A Little Bit About Me
I am a convert/revert to Islam (in January 1991), though I am often disgusted by what my co-religionists do in the name of God and Islam.
Because my ethnic background is English (WASP), I guess one could call me a WASM (White Anglo-Saxon Muslim) or a WASH (White Anglo-Saxon Hanif). Ha!
Being a Muslim, I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, and no sex outside of wedlock.
I self-identify as a Sunni Sufi and Hanif. The Sufism that I adhere to is the sober, Shari`ah-observant Sufism, especially the moderate asceticism of what might be referred to as proto-Sufis amongst Muhammad (pbuh)'s Sahabah and Tabi`un (like`Ali bin Abi Talib, Abu Dharr al-Ghiffari, Abu Darda, Salman al-Farisi, the Companions of the Sofa, Uways al-Qarni, al-Hasan al-Basri, Ibrahim ibn Adham, Sufyan al-Thawri, Fudayl ibn `Iyad), as well as Sufis like akl-Harith al-Muhasibi, Junayd al-Baghdadi, `Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani, Abu Hamid Muhammad al-Ghazali, Baha' ad-Din Naqshbandi, `Uthman ibn Fudi, etc., etc.
Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Religious Studies (with a focus in Islam) at the University of California at Riverside, al-hamdulilah; my ultimate goal is to earn a PhD in Religious Studies and teach at an American college or university, in sha'Allah khayr.
Also, as you can see from my pics, I have a goatee rather than a full beard.

What I Am Looking For
My wife divorced me a little over four years ago (late October 2013). I'm looking for marriage in the future; marriage is my intent. Ma sha'Allah.
Please note that I am ONLY interested in pursuing marriage with an AMERICAN MUSLIMAH!
If I am to get married, if that is what God wills for me, then I will want to have children, so I need to hope to find a prospective wife who is within what is considered safe for both the mother and infant in pregnancy (ie. someone 40 or younger), but the older I get, the less possibility of me being able to find someone who is 40 or younger. Oh well, God wills what He wills.
Race and ethnicity in a potential wife is completely open. Are we not all the children of Adam? Does not the Qur'an say: Amongst the Signs of God in the Heavens and the earth are the diversity of your languages and colors; [30:22] and Muhammad (pbuh) say: In Islam, there is no differentiation between black and white, Arab and non-Arab. We are all equal as teeth on a comb. What differentiates us is our faith and out actions.
