  1. Introducing the messaging system on SingleMuslim.com:

    *
As you navigate through the website you will be notified of any new unread messages within the site menu (a), or if you return to the Control Panel you will see a short summary of any new unread messages (b).

    *

When you visit the My Messages page you will see a summary of any Conversations that you are having with other members of the site, including any new unread messages (c).

Note: Messages are now automatically placed into conversations allowing you to keep track of messages sent and received from other site members.

Note: Conversations are automatically ordered by most recent activity; the conversation with the most recent activity is at the top of the page.

You can view whether you have sent or received each individual message and how long ago it was sent or received from this page (d).

New unread messages are highlighted and labelled with a filled in circle (e). After the messages have been read they are no longer highlighted and the circle is no longer filled in (f). You can change the label of the message from unread to read, and vice-versa, by clicking the circle icon.

You can delete an entire conversation, including all the messages within, from this page (g).

You can also view the other members profile from this page, by clicking on the View full profile link (t).

    *

To read and reply to a message click on it and it will open within the My Messages page (h).

    *

You can then compose your reply. The reply box will expand to accommodate your message if required (i).

    *

When you click send, you will receive a confirmation that you message has been sent (j).

    *

The next time you view your conversation, it will be updated with any new messages (k).

You can delete any individual messages from within the conversation (l).

You can view the status of your sent messages; if the message has not been read by the other member a closed envelope is shown; if the message has been read an open envelope is shown (s).

If you need to, you can also mark messages as spam (m), or report or block the other member (n).

To exit a conversation, without sending a message, you can click the close icon (o) or you can simply click outside the conversation window (in the grey area) or you can press the Esc button.

    *

To send a new message to a member on the site, simply go to their profile and use the Send a Message button (p).

The Send Message window will open and you can compose and send your message from here (q).

When you click to send your message, you will receive a confirmation that it has been sent (r).

If you are accessing the site via a mobile device, this will be detected and a mobile friendly version of the new messaging system, with all the same features, will be automatically used.
