Salaam ‘Alaikum

Writing about oneself is perhaps the most difficult job. Part of the problem is that the perception we have of ourselves is not always how others perceive us, for what they see is what is manifest in our outward appearance and actions, but the real truth of course always lies within. And here is the real difficulty: how do we portray our inner character, the part which matters the most, in a few hundred words to the person – inshaAllah – with whom we wish to spend the rest our lives.

I am not going to attempt to that, but inshaAllah the above words should indicate that I am quite a reflective type of person. I hold Islam very close to heart and mind and try my outmost to live life according to the teachings of Quran and Sunnah – often failing of course, as we humans tend to do. Alhamdulillah I have been blessed with a placid disposition – as others say – but not one that is dull and without enjoyment and fun within the limits of Islam; I do have a great sense of humour (Alhamdulillah).

I love travelling – despite not having gone to many places – and spending time outdoors. I would hope to take up this interest in more vigour with my future spouse, inshaAllah.

I come from a very close knit and respected family. Perhaps made closer by the fact that we do not have any parents; both are deceased (Allah Yarhamuhum)
