what's this?

According to my family, I'm on the shelf. So I ran to sign up for this site in a panic j/k lol. I'm 24 years old. I was born in Guyana and I'm mixed (mostly with Portuguese and Indian).

I've been Muslim for about 5 years now. In my free time I cook, read, sleep, go out sometimes, and volunteer. I like to make jokes, but my sense of humor is a little weird. I'm pretty straightforward and I say what's on my mind, too much sometimes.

I'm a high school teacher. I'm almost done with my Masters degree. I can be opinionated, but I have traditional values as far as my role as a Muslim woman goes. I like my job, but if I had children (inshAllah), I'd want to stay home to raise them before they started school.

I do believe in a man being the head of a household, but I think he should be compromising, as well. I always try to compromise and look at things from other people's perspective.

I take Islamic classes to increase my knowledge of Islam and I'd like for whoever I marry to be similarly motivated as I think spouses should help each other grow as Muslims and grow closer to Allah.
